COE CBSE Promoting Mental Health and Well being Among Students

The COE, CBSE, Prayagraj successfully conduncted a workshop on 'Promoting Mental Health and Well-being Among Students' for the teaching staff of Patanjali Rishikul on 29 June 2025, with the aim of sensitizing teachers about the importance of students’ mental health and equipping them with strategies to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment. The session was conducted by two eminent resourse persons; Ms.Kavita Bedi, Councellor, a renowned psychologist and child wellness expert, PGT Psychology, Sanatan Dharma Education Centre, Kanpur and Ms. Divya Agnihotri, PGT English, Pandit Deen Dayal Sanatan Dharma Vidyalaya, Kanpur. The workshop began with an overview of the common mental health challenges faced by students in today’s fast-paced and competitive academic atmosphere, such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, peer pressure, and emotional outbursts. Key highlights of the workshop included: * Understanding the signs and symptoms of mental health issues in students * Importance of early identification and timely intervention * Role of teachers in building resilience and emotional strength * Strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and empathetic classroom environment * Techniques such as active listening, mindfulness, open communication, and positive reinforcement Interactive activities, group discussions, and role-playing scenarios helped participants gain practical insight into handling sensitive situations with care and confidence. Teachers were also introduced to various school-based mental health programs and were encouraged to collaborate with parents and counselors when needed. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session and distribution of resource material for further reference. Feedback from participants indicated that the session was enlightening and has significantly enhanced their understanding of student well-being. Overall, the workshop was a step forward in empowering educators to contribute positively to the holistic development of students and to foster a mentally healthy school environment.
