Raksha Bandhan 2020

                             RAKSHABANDHAN SESSION: 2020-2021

Rakshabandhan is one of the holiest festivals of India, celebrating the eternal love between brother and sister manifested through the tying of the traditional sacred thread by the sisters on the wrists of brothers who, in turn assures his ever ready presence for the safety and protection of his sisters. Patanjali Rishikul observed Rakshabandhan on 3rd August, 2020 with a difference by connecting to the nature and developing a special bond with our green siblings. The initiative was under taken by Swaraj Vidyapeeth with an intention to sensitize students towards environment protection and foster a sense of emotional attachment with nature. Rishikulites tied the threads around the plants and trees near their homes and vowed to take care and protect them like their siblings. They clicked pictures and made videos and shared them with their class teacher. Principal, Sri Nityanand Singh described “Vrikshabandhan” as an opportunity to bond with nature with the tenet to create lifelong relation of human and trees strengthened with the thread of care, concern and protection. Vice President, Dr Krishna Gupta, blessed the students and encouraged them to take a resolution to protect their green siblings. -Ms Davinder Kaur
